"Gracie" was a shining star in the show ring. She is the daughter of Ch. Marcris Risque' Blue Hill's Envy and Debbie's Precious Angel. Mom knew pretty quickly that she was going to be a very special girl and named her Jacob's Perfect Grace. She has that beautiful Maltese "grace" with a spunky spirit, wonderful structure and pigment and a silky coat and that makes her pretty close to "perfect".
Gracie
took her first points (2) during her first show weekend at only a week over
six months of age. Thank you to Judge Desmond Murphy for recognizing early
on that she is one special girl.
Shortly
after that we went to the Toy Specialty Show in Gulfport, MS. Gracie showed
her spirit in the Breed Ring by doing the "puppy dance". She took
best puppy and Mom decided to take her to the puppy group ring because it
was obvious that she needed some ring experience to learn when and when
not to do the puppy dance. She surprised Mom by acting wonderful and took
a Group 3 in the Best Puppy Competition under Breeder-Judge Vicki Abbott.
What an honor! The next day she took Winners Bitch under Judge Florise Hogan.
Her handler that day was Joseph. Don't they make the cutest "couple".
About a month later Joseph took Winners in Novice Juniors at the Atlanta
show against 20 other kids. I didn't know whether to be prouder of her or
of him.
Due
to busy family commitments we are only showing Gracie on a limited basis
at shows close to home. She was the "hometown" hero during the
Brierfield Show Weekend taking Winners and Best of Opposite Sex all three
days. Shown here with Judge Jean Fournier. She also got on the local news
that weekend. Mom didn't see it as the camper didn't have a TV signal but
many of Mom's friends saw it and thought Gracie was just beautiful.

September,
2004 was an exciting month. First Judge Joseph Gregory awarded her Best
of Opposite Sex at the Chattanooga KC show. This was her second major win.
Gracie went on to take a Group First placement in the special Best of Opposite Sex Competition sponsored by the Chattanooga Kennel Club. A friend watching the competition said the look on my face "was priceless".

In
late September, 2004 we traveled to Orlando to attend and participate in
the American Maltese
Association's National Speciality Show. We showed Gracie in the 15 -
18 month Junior Bitch class in the Sweepstakes and she took First Place!!!
We also showed Gracie in the Bred by Exhibitor class of the official Conformation
show. The competition was terrific and we did not place but I was so pleased
with Gracie. Here we're shown waiting ringside for the call to enter the
ring for our class. Visit our AMA
National Specialty page for more photos and information about this event.

Gracie has finished her Championship and is enjoying her well deserved retirement from the show ring. As of November 2007 she has one Champion Son, Ch Jacob's Chase N Fame and one Son, Jacob's Raisin Arizona who should finish his championship very soon. Her other babies are living in wonderful families.
