AMA National Specialty Show

2004 AMA National Sweepstakes

The Sweepstakes event is a fun event featuring puppies and young dogs up to eighteen months of age. The competitors are divided into classes based on age and sex. Dogs which have earned their championship are not allowed to participate in Sweepstakes. Winners of Sweepstakes do not earn points toward their AKC Championship. Instead of points they win prizes, including cash prizes that are funded by the Sweepstakes entry fees.

Jacob Maltese entered two females in the 2004 AMA National Sweepstakes. Beth (Jacob's Star of Bethlehem) competed in the Puppy Bitch - 9 months & under 12 months class. Beth performed nicely and was awarded Fourth Place in the class by Judge Glynnette Cass. Gracie (Jacob's Perfect Grace) competed in the Junior Bitch - 15 months & under 18 months class. Gracie really strutted her stuff in the ring that day and was awarded First Place in the class by Judge Glynnette Cass.

My webmaster (and brother) Herb Cumbie took photos of the events. Unfortunately the battery on his camera ran out after Beth completed the competition in her class and he was not able to get any pictures of Gracie's performance in the Sweepstakes.
